Karen Blanden

My early years were involved in the educational system, including developing the creativity of young people through literature, drama and music.  Later, my business experience involved encouraging people to pursue their career aspirations by doing career coaching and placement.  I have presented workshops and trainings in the areas of teambuilding, personality development, and communication in the corporate community.  Many experiences in both the educational and business sectors have served to affirm and develop my commitment and skills at helping people develop healthy relationships, both in their professional lives, and their families.

I completed both my B.A. and my M.A. in Community Mental Health Counseling at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and have met all the requirements of the State of Florida to be licensed as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor.  I also am credentialed by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

I belong to the Tampa Bay Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as the Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association.
